HEy, I'm Jules!
I'm a photographer and artist based in Truckee, CA. For me, photography has always been about more than just pretty photos - it is a way of intentionally seeing, questioning our environment, and finding beauty in unexpected places.
I started my photography business, Julianna Martin Photography, over seven years ago when I was in high school. I offer photo sessions for couples and families, seniors graduating high school or college graduates, families and couples, as well as commercial brands.
In addition to my photography business, I love shooting film and printing in the darkroom or working with experimental analog processes like Polaroid emulsion lifts. I studied art and photography in college and I'm often working on projects to grow my own art practice.
My "Why"
Photography is StorytellingI take photographs as a way of visually capturing a story or a feeling. I believe that photos embody emotions associated with an experience, and I think that photography represents more than pretty photos on an Instagram feed. My goal is to convey a unique feeling through each image I create, whether that is pure child-like joy in a portrait or the exploration of identity in self-portraiture.
