Welcome, I'm Jules!
I'm a photographer based in Truckee, CA and Princeton, NJ. To me, photography is not simply about taking pretty photos - it is about seeing the potential to tell a story in every moment.
I started my portrait photography business, Julianna Martin Photography, in early high school. I continue to photograph portrait sessions for graduating seniors, families, and couples, as well as commercial headshots. I would love to capture your unique story.
Outside of my commercial work, I am a current college student pursuing a major in Visual Arts. In my personal studio projects, I enjoy engaging in photographic processes that challenge the way I think about the world, whether it be printing in the darkroom or translating photographs between analog and digital forms.
My "Why"
Photography is StorytellingI take photographs as a way of visually capturing a story or a feeling. I believe that photos embody emotions associated with an experience, and I think that photography represents more than pretty photos on an Instagram feed. My goal is to convey a unique feeling through each image I create, whether that is pure child-like joy in a portrait or the exploration of identity in self-portraiture.
